Washington State Cactus

This page supports the effort to have the Basalt Cactus (Pediocactus nigrispinus) designated as the official "state cactus" of the State of Washington.  Such action must be taken by the state legislature.  The bill working its way through the current session of the 2025-2026 Washington State Legislature is Senate Bill 5325.
